Draft Day 1 Complete!

With the email drafts underway the FFIC completed it's first round of live drafts this past Sunday.

On the docket were the drafts for the Guillotine, Keeper, OmegaFlex, and Traditional leagues. The Guillotine league features a standard set of rules; however, instead of the typical head-to-head matches, a team is eliminated each week based on score and their players are cut to free agency. Here's how that draft turned out...

Once that was completed the next draft up was the Keeper league. There's a bit more pressure in this draft since it is one of two leagues in the competition where there are long-term implications (players can be kept for draft round +1 in the next season). As you might except with added pressure comes added bumps in the roads. While there were some issue that came up during the draft here was how that draft turned out...

The third draft of the day was OmegaFlex, which is a league concept where all starting positions are a form of flex spot. One of the most notable things about this draft was how the SuperFlex positions impacted the draft. As you might notice all of the starting QBs were basically gone by the end of Round 6. From there things flew along as people could easily grab the best player available without having to worry about starting positions (the only requirements would be that teams have at least two RB/WR while QB and TE could be 100% optional). Here's how it went...

The final draft of the day was our Traditional draft. While not as fun as OmegaFlex it's one that certainly all participants were very familiar with. Here's the final draft board...

All together it was a very successful first day of drafting. The high-side estimate for the day was that the drafts could take up to 12 hours; however, all four drafts were completed within half that time. Big thanks to everyone for coming out and participating! There's one more live draft day to go (coming up this Saturday!) and we still have three email drafts underway.
